In 2014, world production of potatoes was 382 million tons, an increase of 4% over 2013 amounts and led by China with 25% of the world total. Raw potato is 79% water, 17% carbohydrates ,2% protein. In a 100 grams amount, raw potato provides 77 kilocalories and is a rich source of vitamin B6 and vitamin C
